*note: rules regarding specific forums will be repeated in their forums, so you have no excuse to be ignorant*
Regarding “Anno hates you”: I figured someone would have a question about the name, so I’ll explain here. The phrase “Anno hates you” started on the G4 (then G4TechTV) message boards by the local Eva fanbase (in particular, MGS05). The basic logic for it was that Eva is so confusing and disturbing that the only explanation was that the director hated his target audience. We all know that isn’t true, but the phrase stuck, and has become something of a motto.
Regarding Welcomes: Now, I’d like to welcome all newcomers to this board. “Anno Hates You” is a community that centers on discussions about the anime series “Neon Genesis Evangelion” and its spinoffs/sequels. For a more formal welcome from the other members of the board, please post on the “Introductions” forum.
Regarding the Forums: There are 15 different forums on “Anno Hates You”. Below, I’ll describe each of their differing subject matters. Descriptions can also be found under the links to the respective forums.

Regarding Threads: Now I will describe the types of threads that are allowed (or not) on “Anno Hates You”.
-Discussions: The most basic kind of thread. These just center on one or two topics, which the members discuss.
-Vs. Threads: Basically threads of a competitive nature. Topics like “Who would win...?” and “Who’s Hotter/Sexier/Cuter” are only two examples of vs. threads.
-Image Threads: Threads with no purpose than the showing of images of any kind. These always go under the image forums.
-Polls: Threads that involve a poll of some kind (duh).
-Off-topic: Any thread that does not have a central topic, or that deviates from its intended topic. These always go in the Off-topic forum. No exceptions. Please note that any thread devolving into off-topic will be moved to the Off-topic forum.
-Board War: A special kind of off-topic in which the members basically role-play themselves in a massive battle with other members. There are strict rules regarding these which are explained later.
-Hentai Threads: Any discussion dealing partly or wholly with hentai of any kind. Theses are expressly forbidden, and any offenders will be banned for at least one week. Repeat offenders risk permaban.
Regarding Language: The basic rule here is: “if it’s censored on basic cable television, don’t say it.” There is a language filter in place, but dodging the filter with creative spelling will get you in trouble. Sexually suggestive language isn’t allowed, either.
Regarding Images: First of all, avatars may be no larger than 120x120 pixels and 200kb*. Signatures have a limit of 400x150 pixels and 150kb. Animated signatures are allowed, but must comply with the same rules. Images made in normal posts on the boards may be no larger than 800x600 (if they are any larger, make a link), and all the images in a post will not total more than 500kb. If they do, all of them will be immediately pulled. Artistic and un-detailed nudity is allowed in any kind of image. If both of those requirements are not met, the image will be pulled. As with hentai threads, hentai images are not allowed, and any offenders will be punished by the same means. Do note that shoujo- and shounen-ai are allowed.
Regarding Manners: Be nice when you post. Threatening another member in any way or manner, beyond an obvious joke, is not allowed; and, if a member takes a joke wrong, it is best to apologize before you get reported, otherwise, it will be considered flaming. If you get into an argument with another member, and it leads to flaming, both parties concerned will be held responsible (if I sound like a lawyer, forgive me), so use good judgment.
Regarding Board Wars and Vs. Threads:[/b] Board wars are threads as explained above. Strict rules govern these, and if they get out of hand, they will be immediately stopped. Only a staff member may start a board war, and one started by anyone else without expressed permission from a moderator will be locked. The no flame rules still apply in a board war, and will be enforced just as much as they are on other boards. Also, a board war will go on no longer than 300 posts. Once a board war passes that limit, it is locked. This is the only time a length restriction is placed on a thread. Vs. threads come under similar rules, albeit without the post limit, and they may be made by normal members. Just as with board wars, if vs. threads get out of hand, they will be stopped, and the forum deleted.
Regarding Fan Section Submissions: All submissions must be unofficial works. You may post works from other artists, but you must give them full credit (this includes official artists who sometimes do fanart themselves) and, in some cases, get permission. When you submit fanfiction, it is best that you look on the most popular fanfiction sites (such as Fanfiction.net) to make sure that your work isn’t alarmingly similar to another author’s (I speak from experience). Plagiarism, no matter how coincidental, is a bad thing and not tolerated.
Regarding Ranks: Post count determines your rank. Really, this means nothing, but it comes with the board software, so I’ll use it. There are no special privileges attached to rank (exceptions being “Committee” and “SEELE” ranks, which are moderators and administrators, respectively). Below are displayed the number of posts needed for each rank.
Student: 0-50 posts
Resident: 51-200 posts
JSSDF: 201-1000
NERV: 1001+
Regarding Questions: Any questions about the guidelines can be directed in the “Guidelines” forum, where a staff member will answer your question. If the question points out a flaw or loophole in the guidelines, an amendment will be made.
*amendment: avatar size increased thanks to a nice bit of coding from one of our staff; kb size increase as well because of my remembering that ProBoards has no preset
