I stole that from Gundam's explanation of Minovsky Particles anyway. Besides, it's a mecha show, it isn't supposed to be completely realistic.

I'm assuming that the positron rifle has a special fiber inside its barrel that restricts the reaction inside of that and then creates a shell around the positrons that keeps them from reacting to outside particles once it leaves the barrel.

Then why'd misato get a gun? It was hers. All NERV personnel are trained in the use of firearms, and, being of high rank, Misato naturally carried her own.

I'm thinking Kaji was shot by NERV agents under orders from Gendo, who, in turn, was following orders from SEELE (for once). This topic is probably one of those that will never be fully answered. Like Amanda Winn Lee said (D&R commentary), it's a "Give them something to talk about in the parking lot" moment.

Those books are all part of the Apocrypha. Books written after the Bible was compiled and believed by some to be missing pieces of the Bible, and by others to be completely separate from Scripture. It's quite possible she is in one of those books.

biblically lilith was the angel who refused to lie beneath adam, as such she was punished by god there is the belief that angels were the imperfect forms of man created by god so that he may look unto himself which was the purpose of our creation... and i am completely wrong You're not completely wrong. Misato explained that the angels were other possibilities for humans. And Biblically, Lillith didn't exist because she was never mentioned in the bible. Correct. In Rabbinical scripture, Lilith was the first wife of Adam who was created just as he was. She was very rebellious, however, so God exiled her to Hell and replaced her with Eve. Going further, Lilith is supposed to have gotten with Cain and produced children called Lilim (which humans are in Eva, of course). I'll check Wikipedia later for some more of the story, hoping that there is more to speak of.

It was likely from space as well. NERV couldn't detect it at all until it started dropping pieces of itself to earth.

Actually, since they couldn't detect the other Angels until they came into close proximity to NERV HQ, it's still possible that Arael flew into space to ready its attack.
Still, intriguing possibility, especially since most mecha shows deal with threats that come from space.

I agree pretty much with them. It makes perfect sense within the context of the show, as well.

He means basically that neither mecha would come out on top. Essentially, both pilots would say, "Um, why are we doing this again?"

Topic moved to General Discussion for following reason:
While it has a "vs." in the subject, this is no Vs. Thread of the true nature. I am classifying this type as general discussion because it presents a scenario for members to weigh and discuss one hypothetical situation over another, and not the moronic Vs. Threads that the Battleground is meant for.
Also, darkelf, I checked the Guidelines to be sure, authorization is only required in the case of a Board War, not a Vs. Thread.

Don't forget about the AT Field, Jedi. If it was strong enough, it could withstand even a Dual Buster Rifle shot. Not to mention, it can also be used as a powerful weapon. As for being able to withstand a nuclear blast, it's directly stated that an Eva can indeed survive such a thing (episode 7), though how many times is not revealed. Furthermore, in ep. 19, Unit-00 survives a nuclear blast from an N2 mine that it was holding; however, it hurt enough to allow Zeruel to pierce its head, so such a close blast may give the Gundam an upper hand for a brief moment.
I have to agree that a Gundam would definitely win in space, because an Eva isn't designed for space combat. If any one of them could even stand up to a Gundam in space, it'd have to be Unit-01 with its wings, and I doubt it can move very fast with them. On land, the situation is pretty much reversed. Most mobile suits have difficulty moving well on land unless they hover. The Evas, being biological, can move like a human could at that size. In addition, Evas are all but impenetrable by all but the most powerful conventional weapons. Cannonfire, ATG missiles, and capital ships have been shown to be completely ineffective against them. The only way a Gundam could hope to harm an Eva is with beam weaponry, and most of those would falter at the existence of the AT Field.

Oh and if Shinji was absorbed then spit out why didn't Shinji's mother get spit out too? Yui is probably trapped within the Eva itself. Shinji was only able to be brought back because of his own will to live and the efforts of Ritsuko to bring him back. In addition, the Eva is pretty lifeless without Yui's already trapped soul. If she were to reincarnate, as it were, Unit-01 would no longer work. Also, i made a pole for everyone's favorite angel. i accidentaly put the title as The Angels, not Whats your favorite angel? just so everyone knows. there's only 2 votes right now.... so... ya' know... vote You really don't need to plug your own threads. People will reply to them in due time.

Whoa. Can't believe I never noticed that. =/ I must of missed something or they just don't mention that on the show. They don't. It's in her character bio.
