Angels coming from space?
Well, we know that the Angels are another possibility of what humans could have evolved to, thus humans and Angels have a common origin (that egg thingy).
The episode of the "Angel egg" on the volcan makes me think that Angels have been dormant until the Second Impact, each one on a different place (could be the moon one of those places?).

I tried to read that Sea of Dirac garble during one of AU's Eva discussion threads and I went cross-eyed and stopped...
I also vaguely remember reading something that Adam and Lilith were extraterrestrials. They created life on various worlds as they traveled, but the creations of one couldn't live with creations of the other.
All the creations of Adam and Lilith (including ourselves) were compelled to return to their makers, Instrumentality. Somehow, both Adam and Lilith arrived on Earth and we arrive with the mess we know and love.
That little theory suggests that the Angels came to Earth from space. Sandalphon hatching isn't necessarily counter to that point. War of the Worlds has alien weapons buried on Earth that lie dormant. Goku was sent to Earth as a child and grew dangerous later.
Bear in mind, I don't remember where I read a damn lick of that...

biblically lilith was the angel who refused to lie beneath adam, as such she was punished by god
there is the belief that angels were the imperfect forms of man created by god so that he may look unto himself which was the purpose of our creation...
and i am completely wrong

Misato explained that the angels were other possibilities for humans. And Biblically, Lillith didn't exist because she was never mentioned in the bible.

In Rabbinical scripture, Lilith was the first wife of Adam who was created just as he was. She was very rebellious, however, so God exiled her to Hell and replaced her with Eve. Going further, Lilith is supposed to have gotten with Cain and produced children called Lilim (which humans are in Eva, of course). I'll check Wikipedia later for some more of the story, hoping that there is more to speak of.

Those books are all part of the Apocrypha. Books written after the Bible was compiled and believed by some to be missing pieces of the Bible, and by others to be completely separate from Scripture. It's quite possible she is in one of those books.

Actually I think I kind of understand that Dirac theory, though I'm afraid the knowledge I just read upon will wither away in the bottom area of my cranium. =/ Maybe I need to read it again. But then I don't remember much about my past science classes...actually I'm not even in Physics. >_>
